GRADY - Grady’s junior high girls have had a busy week playing a tournament and two district games. On Jan. 15, Grady opened the Garden City Tournament with a 22-20 victory of Sands. Amaia Najera and Brynlee Madison led Grady with eight points each.

Coronado crowned district diving champion

ANDREWS – The District 4-5A Swimming & Diving Championships were in Andrews last weekend. Ethan Coronado, of Stanton, won the 1-meter diving with a score of 404.50; Andrews’s Elijah Trevino was second with a 233.80. Coronado advances to the Region I-5A Meet, Feb. 3-5 in Lubbock

Bearkats beat Grady, sit atop district standings

GARDEN CITY – The varsity Bearkats picked up a nice win over Grady Tuesday night in Garden City. The first eight minutes were back and fourth with neither team gaining an advantage, but Garden City had a spectacular second period building a 22-14 halftime advantage.

Lady Kats come up short against Grady

GARDEN CITY – The varsity Lady Bearkats fought hard but came up short Tuesday night in a District 8-1A contest against the Grady Wildcats. Grady started the game with a hot hand picking up a 29-8 lead by halftime.
