Junior High Buffaloes best Golden Cranes

– Stanton’s junior high boy’s seventh grade basketball teams hosted the Crane Golden Cranes. The game between the ‘A’ teams was exciting and went down to the wire. Stanton and Crane played to an 8-8 halftime tie and Crane would take a three point lead after the third quarter.

Stanton opens roundball season with two losses

Like many teams across the state, the Stanton Buffaloes are adjusting to life off the grid iron and on the hardwood with the start of basketball season. The Buffaloes were in Denver City just before the Thanksgiving Break.

Garden City takes down two Buffalo teams

– Garden City should change their mascot to the Indians after dominating two West Texas teams with Buffalo mascots. The Garden City high school boys’ teams were in action on Tuesday against the Forsan Buffaloes.

Lady Kats split games with Forsan, Grape Creek

– The Garden City Lady Kats were on the road Tuesday night for a non-district contest with the Forsan Buffaloes. The varsity game was a thriller from start to finish with Garden City edging Forson in the final seconds for a 27-25 victory.

JV Wildcats still perfect beating Coahoma, O’Donnell

– The Grady Wildcats junior varsity team improved to 3-0 on the season with a nice win over Coahoma on Tuesday. The Wildcats opened the game with a stellar 11-2 run and went on to take a 20-6 halftime lead.

Slow start gives Coahoma early advantage, victory

– The Grady Wildcats stepped up in competition on Tuesday night battling Class 3A Coahoma on the road. Grady did not have a good start to the game falling behind 18-11. Over the next two quarters the Wildcats did chip away at the Bulldog’s lead to trail 43-40 heading into the final frame.

Grady junior high sweeps Loop

– Grady’s junior high boys’ basketball teams were in action on Monday against the Loop Longhorns and each team recorded their first victories of the season. Grady’s A team was brilliant on both sides of the ball scoring a whopping 36 points and holding Loop to an average of one bucket per quarter.

Wildcats, Bearkats well represented on all-district lists

- The football season is officially over for the teams in Class 1A, Division I, District 7. Now that all the district representatives are out of the playoffs the coaches have released the names of the athletes picked to represent the All-District Teams.  

Lady Cats rebound after season opening loss

GRADY– The Grady High School basketball seasons are underway. The Grady Varsity girls are two games into the season. The Lady Wildcats lost the opener to Westbrook 42-35. The Lady Cats got off to a slow start and had to play catch up the whole night.
