- Edward Benton Merrick, 87 of Ralls, died Sep. 11, 2022, with his loving family by his side. He was born Aug. 6, 1935 in Stanton, to Jess Maligan Merrick and Edna Elizabeth Jinkins. He married the love of his life Oleda Jo Johnson on Jan. 25, 1970, in Lamesa.

Billie Lorine Flanagan

- Billie Lorine Flanagan, 90 of Stanton, died Sept. 14, 2022. She will lie in state Sept. 16, at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton. The family will receive friends from 4pm until 6pm Friday at Gilbreath Funeral Home. Rosary service will begin at 7pm at St. Joseph s Catholic Church.

Billy Underwood

TOLAR - Billy Joel Underwood, 92 of Tolar, died in the early morning, July 28, 2022. Services were Aug. 1, at Stephenville Funeral Home, and burial followed at Tolar Cemetery in Tolar. He was an only child born Nov. 15, 1929, to V.A. and Gladys Pauline Rose Underwood in Knox City.

Phyllis Snell

LAMESA - Funeral service for Phyllis Snell, of Lamesa, were Aug. 27, at Branon Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Mark Hackett officiating. Interment followed to Dawson County Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. She was born Nov.

- Pamela Ruth Hedrick, 68 of Stanton, died Aug. 24, 2022. A visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 28, at Gilbreath Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Aug. 29, at First Baptist Church of Stanton. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. She was born on Nov.

Mary Ann Alberts

- Mary Ann Alberts, 79 of Colorado City, died Aug. 26, 2022. She was born Jan. 22, 1943, in Brownfield, to A.C. and Thena Kidd. She grew up outside of Colorado City where she met and married Eddie Alberts on June 9, 1959, on the family farm near Silver.

Barbara Mozelle Kinard

MIDLAND - Barbara Mozelle Kinard, 63, died Aug. 20, 2022. She was born on Feb. 9, 1959, in Big Spring. She was a loving Wife, Mother and Grammy. She was always passionate about her feelings, the good and the bad. She grew up fast, mostly on her own, a child of a single mother in Big Spring.

Clyda Ruth Key

MIDLAND - She Ruth Key died Aug. 18, 2022 in Midland. She was born to Clyde and Mossie Akins in Nelta, on Aug. 21, 1929. She attended elementary school in Nelta and graduated from Sulphur Bluff High School in 1946.

Wilma Cunningham

MIDLAND - Wilma Dean O'Bannon Webb Cunningham, 88, died at home on June 17, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Malcom William 'Mac' O'Bannon and Freddy Pruett O'Bannon, one brother, Malcolm Marion O'Bannon, husband and father of her children, Donald E. Webb, husband James R.

Lou Vena Tunnell

HOUSTON - Lou Vena Tunnell was born on Sept. 5, 1935 to Vera and Jim McCoy in Knox. She died on Aug. 8, 2022, while vacationing in Seaside Beach, Florida. She grew up in the small West Texas town of Stanton, where her grandfather owned the hardware store and her father was the Justice of the Peace.
