MIDLAND - Roy Cox, 72 of Midland, died July 19, 2020. Graveside services were July 22, at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton.
He was born May 29, 1948 in Stanton.
STANTON - Elisa M. Aguirre died July 17, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 10, 1937, to the late Daniel Marquez Sr. and Rosa Marquez.
She worked for Martin County Hospital for many years. She was an amazing mother of eight children.
STANTON - Jacob Jay Aguirre, 39 of Stanton, died July 9, 2020. Visitation and Rosary were July 14 at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services were held July 15 at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
STANTON - Pedro Olmedo Jr. died July 11, 2020. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. July 16, at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
He is survived by his mother Teresa Ortiz; father Pedro Olmedo Sr.
CORPUS CHRISTI - Lieutenant Bobby Almager died on July 10, 2020, at the age of 53, of COVID-19 complications.
He is survived by his wife Terry Almager and daughters Josey, Rebecca, and Stephanie Almager of Corpus Christi.
STANTON - Born in Tlahualilo, Durango, Mexico and immigrating to the United States in 1987, Mr. Lopez-Flores spent his life as a hardworking, dedicated, faithful and loving man working in his cantaloupe fields in Mexico and cotton fields in Stanton to support his family.
MIDLAND - On Oct. 16, 1926, in McAlester, OK, Frank and Theresa Piccolo welcomed the fourth of six children into this world. While filling out the birth certificate for this life's miracle, the attending physician, Dr. Virgil Henry Bartop, asked Mrs. Piccolo, "What would you like to name this child?
STANTON - Martin Ray Straub (Marty), fourth generation Stanton resident, died suddenly and peacefully at his home in Stanton on June 30, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers Charles Lee Straub and Baby Straub, and brother-in-law Ned Swink.
STANTON - Funeral service for Josie Deatherage, 76, of Tarzan were July 7, at Second Baptist Church in Lamesa with Pastor Dennis Adams officiating. Interment followed at Dawson County Cemetery.
She died July 4, 2020 in Midland.
STANTON - Glee Ann Holcombe, also known as Memaw, a retired hairdresser and resident of Stanton, died unexpectedly in her home on June 25, 2020 at the age of 59.
She was born in Stanton on Dec. 18, 1960 to Jimmy Henson and Virginia James.
