Howard Waid Armstrong, 91, died June 25, 2023. Funeral services will be at 10 am, June 29, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Clayton Smith, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. Howard was born in Soash on May 15, 1932, to W.F. Armstrong and Sudie Armstrong.

Deborah Kay Johnson, 69 of Georgetown and formerly of Glen Rose and Stanton, died June 13, 2023, in Glen Rose. Memorial services will take place at 2 pm, July 1, at the Walnut Springs Baptist Church. Pastor TJ Joyner will officiate. Deborah Kay Sparks was born on Feb.

Glen Roy Ledford died June 26, 2023, with his wife of 38 years Michael Ann (Mikie) by his side reading the passage Psalm 23 and watching a good ole western.

James Leslie Hartranft, also known as Buddy, died May 27, 2023 at the age of 47 in Stanton. He was born on August 25, 1975 in Fort Worth. He was known for his contagious laughter and his bigger than life personality.

STANTON - Nestor Hernandez, 76 of Stanton, died peacefully in his sleep on June 15, 2023, after battling extended illness. Rosary was June 19, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stanton. Services were June 20, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with interment immediately following at St. Joseph Cemetery.

STANTON - Lance Darrell Payne was born in Midland, on June 17, 1978, to Michael and JoAnn (Leonard) Payne. He died June 6, 2023. He was raised in the cotton fields of his family’s farm in Martin County. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Stanton.
