Wildcats lose opener to Highland 54-6

HIGHLAND – Grady’s football season started with a 54-6 road loss to the Highland Hornets last Friday. Despite the lopsided score, the game was not a loss in the eyes of coach Chris Short. “The kids fought hard, never gave up, and improved as the game went on,” stated Short.

Stanton blanks Grape Creek for 8-0 win

STANTON – The Stanton Buffaloes started off the season better than half the teams in the state after beating Grape Creek 8-0 Friday night at Buffalo Stadium in Stanton. “It’s always great to start with a win,” said Stanton coach Cody Hogan.

Cross country starts Saturday for Buffaloes

STANTON - The Stanton varsity boys and varsity girls cross country teams will start their season on Saturday with a duel meet against Greenwood and Midland Classical. Races will be in Greenwood and begin a 9 a.m.

STANTON - The Stanton Buffaloes were impressive in the first live action scrimmage of the season against Lamesa last Thursday in Stanton. The offense moved the ball easily and managed to over a couple mental mistakes late in the drive to still score a touchdown.

TEXAS - It seems like every year the Texas University Interscholastic League changes some aspect on how many teams are eligible for the state playoffs. Over the years, Texas has been divided into six different conferences with each conference being subdivided into two divisions.

STANTON - The day has finally arrived for football to once again be played at Buffalo Stadium in Stanton. The Buffaloes will be hosting the Lamesa Golden Tornadoes today at 5 p.m. in the first scrimmage of the season for both teams.
