Hopes remain high for state title games

AUSTIN – The University Interscholastic League announced on Thursday that it is extending its suspension of all UIL sanctioned activities due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in Texas. All contests, practices, rehearsals and workouts will remain suspended until further notice.

ACKERLY - Grady’s high school track teams competed in the Sands Relays at Sands High School on March 12. Grady finished fifth in the junior varsity boys team standings with 57.5 points.

Junior high Cats open track season at Sands

ACKERLY - The Grady Junior High boys and girls track teams traveled to Ackerly on Mar. 8 to run at the Sands Relays. The boys were third in the team standings with 100 points. Sands won the meet with 132 points and Borden County finished second with 118. The girls team finished fifth with 64.

Stanton beats Rotan in final inning thriller

STANTON - The Stanton Buffaloes baseball team started the season off a little slow but picked up the pace recently earning two wins. On Feb. 24, Reagan County bested the Buffs 14-4.

Stanton junior varsity sneaks past Colorado City 11-10

STANTON - Stanton’s junior varsity softball team defended the home diamond Tuesday night with an 11-10 victory over Colorado City. The Lady Wolves came out the gate hot scoring three first inning runs. Luckily, Stanton answered with five runs in the bottom of the first inning to take control.

STANTON - Stanton’s softball team split its last four games with opponents Winters, Midland Christian, Ballinger, and Greenwood. The Lady Buff’s first win was a close 8-6 showing over Winters.

Grady golfers post low scores at Sand’s Golf Invitational

SNYDER - Grady Golf participated at the Sands Invitational Golf Tournament on Mar. 9 at the Sammy Baugh Golf Course at Western Texas College in Snyder. Junior Kardian Williams won the tournament with a gold medal score of 101. Sophomore Braden Welch finished second with a silver medal round of 78.
