Wittrein named coaches association all-star

GARDEN CITY - Barbara Wittrein had a spectacular track season for the Garden City Lady Bearkats.

Ashlynn Peugh, a Junior at Grady, competed last week in the State UIL Speech and Debate Tournament in Austin. She received two medals. She was the District and Regional Champion in LD Debate this year. She finished in 6th place at the state tournament.

Grady High School twirler Briley Harrell earned a silver level medal with her twirling performance at the State Solo and Ensemble competition in Austin last weekend.

Buffalo baseball has seven players chosen for All-District Teams

STANTON - The Stanton Buffaloes varsity baseball team improved to 9-17 this season from a 1-24 record the previous season. For just the second time in school history, the Buffaloes made the state playoffs. Stanton faced state powerhouse Wall in the first round at Abilene Christian University.

Grady High School standout athlete Sydney Gonzales won the Class A State Track and Field Meet this past weekend at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas in Austin. Gonzales cleared a personal best 10-10 to win the gold medal and set a new Grady High School record.

Five Bearkats headed to state track and field meet in two weeks

LEVELLAND - The Garden City Bearkats and Lady Kats competed in the Region I-1A Track Meet this past weekend at South Plains College in Levelland.

Stanton stays scrappy in loss to Reagan County

STANTON – The Stanton Buffaloes varsity baseball team fought back after falling down by four runs in the first inning, but the comeback fell just short in a 13-12 loss to Reagan County last Friday. Stanton tallied ten runs in the failed comeback.
