GARDEN CITY – The varsity Bearkats finished the Garden City Klassic Basketball Tournament with two wins and two losses.
The tournament opener against Water Valley was a lastminute thriller.
STANTON – The Stanton junior high girls’ basketball teams took on Odessa Compass Academy on Monday.
Stanton’s seventh grade girls wasted no time starting the game with a 12-2 run and coasting to a 35-9 victory.
Addison finished with a game high 15 points.
BORDEN COUNTY – The Grady junior high basketball teams were in action on Monday night against Borden County.
The Lady Wildcats ran into a very good Borden County.
Borden County took a 30-2 lead at halftime and went on to win 52-7.
STANTON – The Stanton Buffaloes hosted the Pinky Jones Hooptown Classic this past weekend in Stanton.
Stanton didn’t finish with a very good record over the weekend (1-3) but the Buffs are highly competitive despite battling several injuries and having multiple players not at 100%.
STANTON –Stanton High School was the site of last weekend’s Annual Pinky Jones Hooptown Classic.
The Lady Buffs rattled off four wins to finish the tournament undefeated.
Stanton opened the tournament against McCamey on Thursday.

The seventh grade ‘B’ team opened the year with a 28-5 win over Crane
Scoring for Stanton were Campos 12, Garcia 6, Walker 5, Phillips 2, Lozano 2, and Bernal 1.
STANTON – All-District football selection for District 4-3A Division II were released last week.
Lubbock Roosevelt’s senior Alex Trevino was named District MVP while Lubbock Roosevelt junior Nate Gensler and Abernathy senior Jess Hoel shared Co-Offensive MVP honors.
MILES – Grady’s varsity girls basketball team was very efficient this past week earning a spot in the championship game of the Miles Tournament.
Grady opened with a decisive 29-20 victory over tourney host Miles.
