STANTON – All-District football selection for District 4-3A Division II were released last week. Lubbock Roosevelt’s senior Alex Trevino was named District MVP while Lubbock Roosevelt junior Nate Gensler and Abernathy senior Jess Hoel shared Co-Offensive MVP honors.

GRADY – Grady’s junior high boys basketball teams split the two games played on Monday with Garden City and the junior high girls won a close contest over Garden City seventh. The Wildcats A team used a 20-3 run to take a commanding lead and cruised in the second half for a 35-17 victory.

GRADY – The Grady girl’s were the better teams Tuesday night as both the varsity and junior varsity beat Crane at Wildcat Gymnasium in Grady. The varsity jumped on Crane early with a 10-2 run. The Lady Birds stole the momentum in the second quarter to cut the Wildcat’s lead to 20-16 by halftime.

Grady rallies back to beat Crane

GRADY – Tuesday night’s game between Grady and Crane was a thriller with the Wildcats rallying to beat the Golden Cranes 49-43. The first half was a close contest, but Crane was slightly better taking a 21-16 halftime lead.

GRADY – Grady’s subvarsity boys teams proved better than the 3A Crane Golden Cranes Tuesday night winning both games by double digits. The junior varsity game started with a Wildcat’s 7-2 run and by halftime the lead had grown slightly to 15-8.

HIGHLAND – Garden City’s varsity girls basketball team has put in tons of work and is ready for the effort to turn into wins on the scoreboard. The lady Bearkats were in action at the Highland Hilltop Classic last week.

HIGHLAND – Garden City ran into a buzzsaw in the second round of the Highland Hilltop Classic last week but rebounded from the tough loss to finish third in the tournament and then crush Ira on Tuesday. The Bearkats opened the tournament with a nice 42-36 victory over Sterling City.
